拉丁语:近代早期欧洲的语言共同体

自公元9世纪以来,拉丁语已不再是任何民族的母语了,脱离口语的拉丁文也因此而日益简明和准确,并逐渐取代其他字母和文字系统而成为全世界通用的科学和文字符号。在这一过程中,近代早期欧洲的拉丁语共同体发挥了不可替代的作用。对内部而言,拉丁语共同体不仅奠定了欧洲同源多元的文化格局,而且还催生了欧洲认同观念,这是今日欧洲一体化的文化基础;对外部而言,拉丁语共同体为欧洲赢得了世界的话语权。因此,语言不仅是交流信息的,而且还是构建共同体的。
