| Abstract: | When studying Hardy's works,literary critics in our country tend to focus on his later masterpieces,while neglect his first masterpiece Far From the Madding Crowd. In my opinion,such practice does harm to scientific,overall and dynamic study of his works and thought.This thesis manages to prove the propping position of his first masterpiece in the aspects of the development of his tragic ideas,his outlook on marriage and his writing tecniques. |
