On the Dominant Imagery in Mu Dan''''s Poetry

What Mu Dan contributed to the modern Chinese poetry is the intellectuality which was neglected before.The imagery plays a significant role in the process of the thought entering into the poetry.The noteworthy dominant imagery,which dominates the other imageries,exists in Mu Dan's poetry besides the subsidiary imageries.They appear on the three layers of theme,namely realistic,living and metaphysical aspects.By reviewing all kinds of forms and ways the imageries manifest and exploring the inner relation of imagery and meaning,the artistic individuality and model significance of Mu Dan' poetry may be elucidated.
