Influenced by the ideological trend of decadency in the end of the 19th century,decadence became an universal thought and psychology feeling based on that special language background at that times.We can easily find this trend from any novels written by those decadent novelists during the May Four thMovement,just like Luxun's novels On the Second Floor of a WineshopLonersFeeling Sad for Past Life.Generally speaking,Yu Dafu and Chuangzuo House members'novels embodiy this decadent emotion.Decadence is a feeling with modern psychologl affection and the main subject of western modernism literature.In order to express the emotion,these decadent novels have their own text art design,including the construction of symbolic imagery,the show of dreamy world,straightforward words from heart and so on.All above shows the difference from former traditional novels in the writting methods,it also means a new literature the May Fourth Literature and its realism would come into being.
