An Interpretation of Slaughterhouse-Five from the Perspective of New Historicism

Kurt Vonnegut was one of the most influential postmodern writers in the United States,whose novel Slaughterhouse-Five was considered as a milestone of American postmodern literature.From the perspective of new historicism,the binary opposition between history and invention was deconstructed on fictional mode and alien narrative mode in Slaughterhouse-Five,meanwhile,the personal subjective history perspective was established to show expectation and vision of ideal humanity and existence by criticizing and reflecting history.
