西部城市经济发展与西部大开发

制约西部地区经济发展的重要因素之一是城市数量少、等级规模结构不完善、城市弱态集中,最为突出的则是特大城市的中心城市功能未能得到充分的发挥,反过来又制约了其自身的发展.振兴西部经济的关键在于强化经济增长核心与节点的有机联系,重新构筑新型的城市经济关系,强化特大城市与中等城市的联系、中小城市之间的联系,加速中等城市向大城市的发展.

Economic Development and Metropolitan Economy in West China

Among the key factors which prevent the economic development in the western region are a small number of cities, a lack of an integrated structure of grading and scale, and concentration of cities' feebleness. However, the most outstanding factor is that the functions of big cities have not been fully exerted, which by turn restrain the development of these cities . The key to booming the western economy is to strengthen the relations between the nuclei and the knots of economic growth, re-construct a new model of metropolitan economic relation, consolidate the connections between large or super large cities and the medium or small cities, and to speed up the progress of the medium cities to large ones.
