Historical Perspective of the Official Examination and Supervision System of the Tang Dynasty

On the basis of the past dynasties' official examination and supervision system, the Tang Dynasty founded its own perfect and flawless one, which was embued with the characteristics of the heyday of feudal dynasty. The purpose of the examination was to assess officials' tangible political achievements, while the end of supervision was to supervise officials' illegal actions. Both the examination and the supervision were adopted simultaneously and they complemented each other.
