论近代中国资产阶级革命派对西方列强的认识

在近代中国 ,西方列强为追求其本民族的利益 ,发动侵略战争 ,对中国进行掠夺和压迫 ,这是列强侵略、野蛮的一面。而资本主义的社会形态 ,又使列强表现出先进与文明的一面。西方的文明制度与自由民主 ,成为近代中国资产阶级革命党人在中国追求建立欧美式的民主共和国的主要精神源泉。然而列强为维护和扩大其各自的在华利益 ,竞相帮助清政府扼杀了革命派的追求目标。这说明殖民者对利益的追逐高于其标榜的对自由民主的信仰

of the Occidental Big Powers

In the modern Chinese history, occidental big powers committed aggression to China in order to pursue their interests. On one hand, their pillage and oppression of the Chinese people revealed the barbarism and predatory nature of the big powers, on the other hand, the system of democracy and the spirit of freedom which indicated the capitalistic society is more advanced and civilized became the main spiritual resources of the Chinese revolution. For the sake of their interests in China, occidental countries, however, all assisted Qing dynasty in strangling the Chinese revolution, which can be interpreted that their pursuance of interests was above their faith in democracy and freedom
