也谈严复的“信、达、雅”

严复＂信达雅＂的翻译标准自问世的一百多年以来,一直受到人们的关注,在翻译界也享有重要的地位。然而,对严复翻译标准的看法却从来是＂横看成岭侧成峰＂,争论也一直存在。除了对严复翻译标准的理解有误之外,同时也存在着一些对严复的翻译标准片面静止的看法。文章分析了信达雅的涵义和三者之间关系,达和雅也是信的一方面,三者是相互依存,相互联系,不可分割的。

Appreciation of Yan Fu′s ＂xin,da,ya＂

Yan Fu′s translation standards—xin,da,ya— have been focused since their proposed and enjoy hing status in the field of translation.However,there are different views on these translation standards.Both correct understanding and prejudiced opinions exist at the same time.This paper analyzes the meaning of xin,,da,ya and discusses their relationship.Xin,da,ya make up a whole body,da and ya are part of xin,they depend on and interact with each other.
