Choice of strategy model for technological progress

In 21st century, speeding up the technological progress has become the core of economic development strategies in many countries, and the model for technological progress is of importance. The technological progress of a country or an area mainly depends on the introduction and innovation of technology. The latter is composed of imitative innovation and creative innovation. Based on the analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the introduction of technology, of imitative and creative innovation, this paper will discuss how those countries with different levels of technological development decide their models for technological progress. Finally it discusses what models will be suitable for China according to the present situation of technological development, economic developing stage and knowledge economy.
