新时期以来,湖南文艺理论研究取得了重要成果,有的成果甚至走在全国的前列,这是值得充分肯定的.湖南文艺理论研究的发展是一个逐步从左的思想禁锢不断解放的过程,也是一个从以研究马克思主义文艺理论为主,逐步走向开放与多元的过程,西方现代一些文艺理论为丰富与发展湖南文艺理论具有重要的作用,但是总体上来说,马克思主义文艺理论始终占据主导地位,为促进湖南文学的健康发展起到了积极的作用.

Hunan literature and art theory research has gotten a big achievement since the new time. Its development is a process of a freeing from the ＂left＂ thought, also is from only mainly researching Marxism literary theory to open and diversified thought. Some Western modern literature and art theories play an important role in enriching and developing Hunan literature and art theories. But generally speaking, Marxism literary theory is always in the leading place, and promotes Hunan literature developing healthily.
