An Analysis of Stuart M.Plattner's Economic Anthropology

The school of formalism is an important school of the economic anthropology of U.S.A. Its main traits are in favor of the Western economic theories and methodologies and a bold use of the ideas and methodologies of formalism in the study of the economic systems and performances in non-Western societies. Stuart Plattner is now a fairly influential scholar of formalism. He has devoted to the establishment of a new and generalized economic anthropology of formalism and adopted quite a few theories of pragmatism and new-Marxism. His theory is somewhat a combined one or a "compromise" but his research approach surely adheres to formalism.
