Giddens' View of Trust and Its Revelation inKnowledge Perspective

Anthony Giddens, a famous sociologist in west, puts forward two hypotheses about the establishment of trust, taking “knowledge” as the analytical tool. One is the possibility of trust forming by the asymmetry of knowledge, and the other is the necessity of trust shaping by the certainty of knowledge. The various phenomena of the instability of trust in China now can be attributed to the weakness of both the two conditions, drawing lessons from Giddens’ view. And in order to solve these problems from “knowledge” angle, on the one hand, we should keep a rational view of the phenomenon of instability of trust from the vertical dimension, and on the other hand, we can create a relatively stable environment of subjective and objective environment from the horizontal dimension
