The issue of peasantry is the key question in the process of the transformation from traditional society into modern society.In the process of modernization,French peasantry has both the characteristic of being progressive and conservative in the economical reformation and political revolution.From the latter half of the nineteenth century,on the basis of the raise of the throughput of substance and ability of commodity exchange,the style of production and life of French peasantry have been transformed and gradually turned into modern people.This is of certain significance to the construction of Chinese agricultural modernization.
