Emotional Content of the Poems on the Ancient Sichuan Roads by Wang Shizhen

The famous poet Wang Shizhen of the early Qing Dynasty twice came to Shu （the ancient Sichuan）, having experienced the hardship during his travel in the high mountains, across the rapid rivers and along the dangerous roads and left a lot of deep feelings about the historic relics along the way. During his stay there, he created many poems to express his genuine feelings about the portrait - like sceneries, the historic changes, or the relatives and friends, all of which described his deep worry about the hard travel, his pain of feeling homesick, and his sentiment for the past. These poems reflect the profound emotional world of Wang Shizhen on his way towards Shu, and have moved people deeply.
