Reviewing and Thinking back towards China's Introducing Modernism in 1980s

Marxist arts standpoint and its realistic creation method has led Chinese literary world for nearly half century. At the end of 1970s and early 1980s Western modernism was introduced to China and as a result a dispute was aroused. The article analyzes the cause of the dispute with the viewpoint of "accepting theory" and thinks that Marxist arts standpoint and the position of realism are challenged.
