交际法的特点是将语言的结构与功能结合起来进行交际教学,注意语言的运用能力,培养学生学以致用的意识,它要求我们不仅要培养学生听、说、读、写等方面的语言技能,还要教他们将这些语言技能灵活地运用到英语交际中去。交际法所遵循的教学基础原则是：强调学生的主动性和相互作用,不再是以教师为中心,课堂教学应体现以任务为中心而不是以练习为中心。
