| 摘 要： | 埃弗瑞蒙德侯爵的设置,被认为揭示了大革命爆发的原因和革命的正义性.文章以为这是一种误读.从历史的角度看,侯爵这一人物缺乏真实性.从艺术角度看,侯爵的设置是为了对应苔瑞丝,体现一种恶,从而否定暴力和仇恨,张扬仁慈博爱的人道主义题旨.

| Abstract: | The Marquis St. Evremonde in A Tale of Two Cities is often viewed as a character to reveal the cause and justify the Great Revolution. This article argues that this view is a misinterpretation. From the historical angle, the Marquis is a character lacking facility; from the artistic angle, this as the protagonist against Madame Therese Defarge, represents an evil force, the purpose of which is to deny violence and hatred, while blazons mercy and humanitarianism of the theme. |
