The paper enumerates some typical examples of the Western Regions' leechcraft recorded in the narrative works of the medieval times. and points out that the Western Regions' leechcraft recorded in early documents have mostly been exaggerated according to hearsay. As the intercourse between the Western Regions and inner China increased, much unreal hearsay of early times were proofed. The paper holds that the medical skill of several monks born in today's Xinjiang were influenced by the medical tradition of both inner China and India, meanwhile some measures of traditional witchcraft in the Western Regions were preserved.
