Overview and Enlightenment of Guiding Principles for Preschool Children's Use of Technology in the United States

The US Department of Education and Department of Human and Health Services jointly released the Early Learning and Educational Technology Policy Brief in October 2016, which pointed out the guiding principles for preschool children''s use of technology: 1. technology, when used appropriately, can be a tool for learning; 2. technology should be used to increase access to learning opportunities for all children; 3. technology may be used to strengthen relationships among parents, families, early childhood educators, and young children; 4. technology is more effective for learning when adults and peers interact or co-view with young children. The release of the guiding principles enlightened us that: the protection of children''s rights in the digital age should be valued; the technical literacy of early childhood educators should be strengthened; more research on children''s use of technology should be proposed.
