Epistemological Significance and Artistic Value of Tianwang

Tianwang is a novel written by Lin Mei,a Chinese Holland's writer,after her tens of years of study of the western and eastern cultures. It is,first of all,a text transcending the eastern and western cultures. In reflecting upon the living conditions,and the historic and realistic questions of the human beings,the author is always in the context of multi-layered east-west communication and dialogue,criticism,and integration. Tianwang is a cross-disciplinary text,which explores the deep-level issues in the east-west cultures,and the historic and realistic questions that have long been perplexing the mankind. It is also a modern philosophical text that mixes the disillusion of one's ideal,the truth seeking,the pleasure in knowledge,and the carnivalization of intelligence. It discloses to us a sort of skepticism,which is more rational,more humane,and metaphysically epistemological. It is skepticism that leads to thorough enlightenment. Meanwhile,it is a text that is open-ended and multivocal.
