| Abstract: | Over the past century the marriage culture of the Miao people in West Hunan has undergone great change,mainly concerning the ways of marital bonds,wedding rituals and marriage planning.It is argued that the change is characterized with ＂planned change＂ in national cultural strategy on the one hand and the minority people＇s cultural subjectivity and independence facing the leading role of national discourse on the other hand. |
