<小说林>是我国清末四大小说杂志之一,其编辑发行者小说林社又是我国第一家以出版小说为主的近代出版机构,它们对于中国小说事业均做出过重要贡献.本文通过对有关史料的发掘、整理,对<小说林>的创办历史及其与小说林社的密切关系做了比较细致的追溯和分析,以期见出晚清小说事业演进的基本轨迹.

A History Review of the Beginning of Xiaoshuolin--A discussion from Xiaoshuolin

Xiaoshuolin is one of the four novel magazines at the end of the Qing Dynasty. As the editor and publisher, the Xiaoshuolin Press is the first modern publishing house that specializes in the publishing of novels. It once makes great contributions to development of novels in China. This paper meticulously analyses and traces back to the history of Xiaoshuolin and its close relationship with the Press by means of exploring and filing so as to find the basic knowledge of the development of novel enterprise at the end of the Qing Dynasty.
