内容提要晚清时期的重庆城由重庆府城、江北厅城和长江南岸一线三部分组成。在西方人眼中，当时的重庆城位于长江、嘉陵江两江汇合之处，以重庆府城为主，加以江北厅、南岸三足鼎立而成，人口规模有30万人，其规划和建筑强调依山就水，实现了人、建筑与自然环境的和谐。重庆城商贸繁荣，地位重要，是当时西部的商业都会、商务首府。

Chongqing City in the Eye of the Westerner in the Late Qing Dynasty: on Travel Perspective

During the late Qing Dynasty period, the city of Chongqing is composed of Chongqing Fu City, Jiangbei Ting and Nan'an District. In the westerners eyes, the city of Chongqing is located on the join of Changjiang river and Jia Lingjiang river.
