中国共产党对社会主义本质的认识，在社会主义实践中不断深化。建国初期，党对社会主义本质的认识存在误区；改革开放以来，邓小平以“共同富裕”为核心的社会主义本质论断，实现了党对社会主义本质认识的质的飞跃；“三个代表”重要思想体现了党的建设与社会主义本质论的辩证统一，人的全面发展思想开辟了认识社会主义的新视野；和谐社会思想首次提出了社会主义本质的社会发展目标，实现了对社会主义本质认识的又一次理论创新。

The Deepening and Development of Our Party''''s Understanding about the Essence of Socialism——From "common prosperity" to "over-all development of people" to "harmonious society"

The Party has come a long way in its understanding about the essence of socialism.In the early days of the People's Republic,there was somewhat misconception in its understanding about the issue;since the reform and opening-up,Deng Xiaoping's theory about the essence of socialism,which is centered on "common prosperity",makes a great leap forward in the Party's understanding;and Jiang Zemin's important thought of "three representatives" manifests the dialectical unity of the Party's building and the theory about socialist essence,and the thought of over-all development of people opens a new horizon;lastly,the thought of harmonious society put forward by Hu Jintao clarifies for the first time the development target of socialism,and it is,in a sense.a theoretical breakthrough in the understanding about the essence of socialism.
