后殖民之后:翻译研究再思--后殖民主义理论对翻译研究的启示

后殖民主义理论以其文化政治批判的策略引导翻译研究从语言的内部层面走向了广阔的社会政治、经济文化、意识形态语境,由此给予翻译以深刻而具现实意义的揭示。我国翻译研究有必要全面反思中外文化背景和历史传统的不同,找出一条既植根于本民族优秀文化又借鉴到西方先进理论的研究路向。中国的翻译研究应当在走出边缘、争取自身话语权的同时谨防陷入非此即彼的二元对立模式,力图寻求与西方话语的真正对话,达至多元共生,互动互补,从而获得研究视野的开拓和方法论的启迪。

Rethinking upon Translation Studies Enlightened by Postcolonial Theory

Enlightened by postcolonial theory, translation studies hold the promise to step out of the former level of pure language into a much more profound and extensive realm in which a variety of discourses concerning politics, society, economy, and ideology are interacting influentially with translation practice and theory. Translation studies in today's Chinese cultural context should be viewed on the perspective of a penetrating perception into the contrast between Chinas culture tradition as well as social background and that of the West. It is rational and requisite for Chinese researchers to keep eyes simultaneously on both the endowments from Chinese tradition and the extractions from Western theory. However, it is of great importance that translation studies have access to a real dialogue while discarding the thinking paradigm of dualism. On the foundation of pluralistic interaction and disciplinary complementing, the new century will witness the broadening of vision and the multiplying of methodology.
