On the Goal of Building a Well-to-do Society in an All-round Way

The report of the Party's 16~(th) National Congress sets the goal of building a well-to-do society in an all-round way. It has drawn the blueprint for our modernization drive in the first 20 years in the 21~(st) century and further pointed out our way forward in the new stage of development in the new century. Based on our national conditions, and with the correct understanding of its scientific content and proper handling of some major relations as the point of departure, this paper dwells on the significance and necessity of building a well-to-do society in an all-round way, and its nature of being a protracted, difficult, and complicated effort.
