| Abstract: | The 20th century saw a rapid development in the academic research on Longmen Grottoes. Great achievements were made in the collection and processing of the data of the Grottoes culture. Special studies covered various fields such as the history of the Sino foreign relationship, the history of peoples, the history of art, the history of Buddhism, archeology, environmental culturology and protection technology. The future research on Longmen Grottoes should focus on the development of a scientific data system and the comprehensive research at multi dimensions. |
