| 摘 要： | 在美国哲学由近代到现代的转化中，皮尔士起了重要作用。他对以笛卡尔和康德为代表的传统形而上学的批判，他对实践哲学的论证，他关于信念和方法、意义和真理的理论都体现了这种转化的特色。皮尔士的哲学是一个复杂和矛盾的体系，其中包含了各种不同的、甚至相互抵触的观点。他在许多方面都超越了近代哲学思维方式和界限，为西方哲学的现代转型作了重要的理论准备。
