试论撒路斯特的史学

公元前一世纪时,罗马国内的政治斗争日益激烈,共和制度正面临帝制的挑战.撒路斯特作为共和末期的政治家和史家,对罗马共和制度的日趋没落深感痛惜,他的著作《喀提林阴谋》、《朱古达战争》、《历史》试图从道德这一角度来分析导致罗马社会制度危机的原因.可以说撒路斯特是罗马史学史上一位较有成就的史家,他的史著一直到现在都吸引了很多学者和读者研究的兴趣.

Studies in Sallust's Historiography

During the time of the last centure BC,The political struggle was increasingly serious.At the same time,the republic system was facing the challenge of the imperialism.Being a statesman and historian of the time,Sallust felt sorrow for the languishing system.Three of his literatures-The War With Catiline,The War With Jugurtha and Histories study the reasons which lead to the crisis of Roman regime from the point of view of moral.It can be said that Sallust was one of the accomplished historians of ancient Rome.And many scholars and readers have been still interesting in his works through the centuries to our own day.
