五四反传统的实绩与难题

反传统是五四启蒙的手段。其实绩可以归纳为三个方面：一是道统的否定，即否定孔子之道在现代社会中的主导地位；二是学统的解构，即改变传统学术以儒家经学为中心，以史学、子学、文学为附庸的基本架构；三是文统的革命，即结束言文分离的局面，改变文统与封建道统的内在关联。五四反传统并没有造成中国文化传统的整体断裂，但造成一些历史难题，尤其是民族认同的难题和文化重建的难题。在肯定五四反传统的意义的同时，不应回避其留下的难题

Achievements and Problems of the Anti-Tradition in the May 4 th Movement

Anti-tradition is regarded as a means of the enlightenment in the May 4 th Movement.Its achievements can be summed up in three aspects.Firstly,it is a denial of the Confucian tradition and of its leading place in the modern society.Secondly,it is a disintegration of the academic tradition or a change of the basic structure with the study of Confucian classics as primary and the study of history,philosophy and literature as subordinate.Finally,it is a revolution of the written language,i.e. an end to its separation from the speech and a change of its inner links with the feudal orthodoxy.The May 4 th Movement has not resulted in a breakdown of the total structure of the Chinese cultural tradition.Instead,it has brought about some problems in history,especially those concerning recognition of national identities and cultural reconstruction.Evidently,these problems must not evaded while we affirm the anti-traditional significance of the May 4 th Movement.
