数字图书馆是信息资源数字化存取、分布式管理、网络化服务的知识库集群。目前数字图书馆的理论研究和实践风行全球，并取得了相当大的成绩，但这一领域的研发工作还处于探索阶段．其趋势将朝海量数字化存取、全球范围全方位合作、加强标准化建设、科研与工程紧密结合、服务个性化等方向发展。

Digital Library, as a knowledge base, is of the access to digital information resources, distributed management, networking services. At present, the globalization of digital library theoretical study and practice has been making considerable achievements, however the research ＆ design work in this field is being at the exploratory stage, the trend towards mass digital access, all-round cooperation on a global scale, strengthening the standardization construction, scientific research and engineering closely integrated, personalized services etc.
