The cause leading to the selling of Alaska was varied.In terms of international relations,it was the result of Russia and US commonly opposing the UK hegemony.There was domestic causes for Russia to sell Alaska,such as Russia shifting its strategic center from America to Asia,the decline and corruption of Alaskan administrative organs.US was willing to buy Alaska because it had shifted its center of expansion to the Pacific and wanted to realize its dream of establishing the Pacific Empire.Meanwhile,both Russian and US diplomats had made unremitting efforts.The selling process could be divided into three stages of deliberations,negotiations and completion.The selling of Alaska sped up the forming and developing of the Pacific world.
