周扬文艺思想论略

周扬是中国现当代重要的文艺理论家。他的理论活动可以分为四个时期。周扬的文学思想的核心是文艺为人民群众服务。周扬认为:为人民服务的文艺,无论表现现代的或历史的生活,艺术的最高原则是真实。周扬文艺理论研究也重视对文学特征问题的揭示。他认为,与科学相比,创造形象以反映生活,是文学的基本特征。对于文艺的价值与功能,周扬的基本观点是:我们的文艺作品和文艺批评帮助读者辨别真假、善恶、美丑,归根结底是为了用共产主义精神和风格教育人民,因为共产主义精神和风格就是真的善的美的。

On Zhou Yang's Literary Thought

Zhou Yang is an important contemporary Chinese literary theorist,whose theoretical activities can fall into four phases. The core of his literary thought is that art and literature must serve the people. According to Zhou Yang,the highest principle for the people' s art is veracity,no matter what life it reflects,present or past. As for his literary theory studies, he also pays much attention to revealing literary features. Zhou points out that compared with natural science,the basic literary feature is to create the image reflecting actual life. As regards literary value and function, Zhou' s basic views show that our literary works and literary criticism should help our readers to differentiate between the true and the false,the good and the evil,and the beautiful and the ugly,and after all we should educate the people with the communist spirit and style,for such spirit and style are true and beautiful.
