50 Years of Research on LI Bai

This paper is a review and reflection of the research on LI Bai. 50 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China have witnessed great achievements as well as many detours in research on LI Bai. The development of research on LI Bai can be regarded as an epitome in research on poetry of Tang Dynasty. The research on LI Bai has gone through a zigzag road just like the Chinese character "之",which can be divided into three periods:during early years after the state founding,during the Great Cultural Revolution,and the period since opening up and reform policy,until the present period which takes on a healthy and prosperous development.
