汉英定语语序的对比

汉英前置定语内部的语序,在形式上受词性和长短的影响。在语义上,都呈现"限定词语-颜色和形状等词语-性质和分类词语"的顺序,但汉语数量词的位置更灵活,地点和时间词的位置更靠前。在语用上,汉语前置定语内部的语序及定语的后置,与语篇衔接有关。英语后置定语出于语篇衔接的需要,也可以被其他成分隔开。

A Comparison of Word Order of Chinese and English Attributes

Word order within Chinese and English attributes is affected by word class and length.In meaning,both prefer the order of restrictive phrase,color and shape phrase,and nature and classification phrase.But Chinese numerals have a more flexible position;location and time phrases are in the first part.In pragmatics,order within Chinese premodifiers and the postponement of attributes may be affected by textual cohesion.English may also separate an attribute from its head due to textual reasons.
