残疾人与近代中国残疾人事业的发展

1910年由聋哑人周天孚创办的聋哑学校的问世,标志着残疾人开始正式参与近代残疾人事业。30年代之后,残疾人创办了近40所盲聋哑学校,教授聋哑学生文化知识、交流手段和职业技术,促进了残疾人教育"中国化"的实现;出版了以残疾人为主要读者的报刊、杂志,宣传残疾人事业的重要意义,批评歧视残疾人的传统思想;组织了具有近代性质的社团,联合同胞,共同奋斗。这一切表明:残疾人已经从传统的被救助者发展为自觉改变自己与同胞命运的群体,成为推动残疾人事业发展的重要力量。

The Development of The Disabled and Modern China Disabled Undertakings

The establishment of School for the Deaf by Zhou Tianfu in 1910,marked the beginning of the disabled participating in the modern disabled undertakings.Since the 1930s,the disabled has founded nearly 40 schools for the blind and the deaf,delivered cultural knowledge,communication methods and professional skills to disabled students,promoted the implementation of 'Localization' of the disabled education;published newspapers and magazines mainly directed to the disabled,to promote the importance of the disabled undertakings,to criticize the uncivilized discrimination against the disabled;organized associations with modern characteristics and united compatriots to struggle together.It indicated that: the disabled has changed from the rescuer to those who with initiative deciding their own fate,becoming the nuclear force to promote the modern disabled undertakings.
