Focus on the Huangpu River-The Landscape Planning and Design of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo

Selecting sites with original ideas and making the most of their geographical features are essential for the World Expo. As its theme is "Nature's Wisdom", the 2005 Aichi World Expo is located in a forest area, showing the harmony between human and nature. The focus on the Huangpu River and the nature is one motif of the Shanghai World EXPO Park landscape planning and design. The EXPO plan brings forward the motif that shows the tide of the Hangpu River, let visitors have a close relationship with the water level and the stream direction every day. Through the real and the magnified feeling, the plan tries to construct such a remarkable landscape, where man and the nature can be exchanged with each other.
