| 摘 要： | 语调是超音段音位中的一种，在有效地表达思想感情和增加话语的节奏感方面起着重要的作用。文章将英语语调置于真实话语环境，通过对英语语调的文体作用及衔接功能的分析，揭示语调在帮助提高语言表现力和帮助构成连贯语篇时所起的不可替代的作用。同时通过功能分析，指出语调与语篇中新信息的关系。
