The Meaning and Structure of Theoretical Sociology

Theory is the core of sociology study, with which science of sociology will develop. The involution of empirical studies in sociology is resulted from the lack of theoretical consciousness as well as theoretical instruction. Theoretical sociology is a basic branch of learning which integrates history, theory and methodology. Concern with the training and research of theoretical sociology will help promote the construction of local sociological theory.
