| 摘 要： | 英语单词ｂｕｔ可以用作连词、介词和副词等等。本文深入地探讨了ｂｕｔ的连调用法。在不同的语境当中, ｂｕｔ可以用作并列连词和从属连词。用作并列连词时,可以表达不同的意义;用作从属连词时,可以引导不同类型的从句。本文同时也研究了有关ｂｕｔ的一些固定短语和句型结构。

| Abstract: | The English word "but" functions as a conjunction, a preposition, an adverb and so on. This paper intends to make a further discussion on "but"as a conjunction. In different contexts, "but" can serve as a coordinating conjunction, which can express various meanings, and as a subordinating conjunction, which can introduce different kinds of subordinate clauses. A few set phrases and sentence patterns concerning "but" are also being studied in the paper. |
