近代中国报刊兴起的历史动因

作为资本主义经济发展的产物──近代报刊，代表着近代资本主义文明。随着近代中国社会的发展，日益滋长着对信息媒介的需求。商业贸易的发展、城市及城市人口的增加加速了人际交往和商业信息的交流，同时也为报刊准备了读者群。交通通讯业的发展、印刷技术的进步为报刊的兴起准备了必要的物质条件。中国民族资产阶级诞生后，也要求有反映自身利益的舆论工具。而西方人率先移植近代报刊可以说是近代中国报刊诞生的助产婆。

ON THE HISTORICAL MOTIVES OF THE RISE OF THE JOURNALISM IN MODERN CHINA

As a product of capitalist economy, the modem journalism is a representation of capitalist civilization in modern times. The development of modem China caused a demand for a medium of information. The growth in times and urban population speeded up interpersonal and informational communication and gave rise to the joumalistic readership. The technological advance in communication and printing provided the journalist industry with material prerequisites. The capitalist class needed such medium to voice its interest. And finally, the introduction of the western journalism triggered the birth of the modem China's journalism.
