An Interpretation of Lanzhou Taiping Drums from Psychoanalysis Perspective

This paper attempts to interpret Lanzhou Taiping drums using Freud Psychoanalysis, in an effort to explore the ancient human unconscious instinct reflected in Lanzhou Taiping drums and the underlying cause for their continuous develop ment. Analysis from this angle helps us to acquire a clearer understanding of the cultural symbolic meanings that underlie folk lore. Moreover, the interpretation of folklore on such a basis is more correct and goes beyond cultural interpretation.
