| Abstract: | The great trilogy Mourning Becomes Electra is O＇Neil＇s re-evaluation and re-creation of Greek Mythology,transplanting it into modern society,bring Biblical images and archetypal themes into this great play.This essay,taking Frye＇s archetypal criticism and The Bible as the theoretical foundation,analyzes the mythological archetypes—including the characters,the symbols and the structure in this play,reflecting the author＇s re-creation of the great Greek Mythology. |
