日本的五台山信仰探析

中国五台山文殊信仰自北魏、中唐形成以来,很快就影响到了印度、日本等国,作为密教、天台宗等的教学中心,尤其吸引了日本各宗入唐留学生,五台山成为日本僧众入唐朝拜、巡礼的首选圣地。进入10世纪以后,由于末法思想、净土信仰的影响,五台山信仰在日本普遍流传,作为文殊净土象征地,五台山成为日本入宋僧巡礼皈依的佛国。

The Japanese Wutai Mountain Belief throughout the Tang and Song Dynasties

Since its forming in the North-Wei and Central Tang Dynasty,Chinese Wutai Mountain Wenshu belief soon had an influence on such countries as India and Japan.As the teaching center of Mijiao and Tiantaizong,it attracted many Japanese students to the Tang Dynasty,and Wutai Mountain had become the first choice of Holy Land for Japanese monks to worship.In the 10th century,Wutai Mountain belief was wide-spread in Japan as a result of the influence of the Mofa thought and the pure-land belief.As a symbolic place of Wenshu pure land,Wutai Mountain has become a Buddhism country for Japanese monks.
