The key to time and space--An analysis of mysterious figures in Mythical legends of Mountains and seas |

| Abstract: | The figures in the Mythical Legends of Mountains and Seas have special meanings.An analysis of the mythical stories containing special figures reveals that the mysterious figures are 3,4,5 and 9.A further exploration on their origin and symbolic meanings finds that there is a close relationship between these figures and ancient people’s conception of time and space.This paper intends to have these legends classified and analysed with the help of literary theories and anthropological data in order to solve the mystery of these figures. |
