Understanding of science is an important theoretical foundation of Marx's historical materialism."The practical man" is the philosophical perspective of Marx's understanding of science.Four logic routes of Marx's understanding of science are identified in the following:(1) "the practical man-existing objects and intentional activities-science",(2) "the existential practice of the practical man-the historicity of man-science",(3) "technology,industry and capital-science",and(4) "the freedom and emancipation of the practical man-science".These logic routes reflect Marx's understanding of the motivations, the conditions,the dynamic mechanism,and the ultimate goal of science.They constitute the fundamental framework of Marx's philosophy of science.
