王维亦官亦隐的佛道依据

王维一直心存辞官归隐之心而终未归隐,这种矛盾的思想,可以从<维摩诘经>中找到答案.从俗谛的角度看,王维的处世之态是亦官亦隐.从佛教的角度看,王维的立场在生佛之间,既在生又在佛,既不在生又不在佛.这就是居士.王维视维摩诘居士为楷模,一生效法维摩诘.力图整合出家不出家的两条道路,整合出世入世思想,"在家而重出家之美,深其恼耳",这正是他的苦恼所在.王维一生都在寻找合理的人生,追求个性自由,追求精神的自我主宰,企图通过奉佛参禅寻求精神出路.这种苦闷、彷徨与探索,最终被他诗化了.

The Buddhist Basis for Wang Wei's Being An Official But Living A Secluded Life

Though Wang Wei always had a hope to resign from the court, he never realized this hope. The answer to this paradox can be found in The Vimalakirti Nirdesa Sutra. Viewed from the angle of the secular world, Wang Wei assumed the altitude of taking up officialdom while keeping a secluded live, and from the angle of Buddhism, he lived his life according to the Buddhist doctrines but not as a monk-he is a lay Buddhist. Taking Vimalakirti as his life-long example, he tried to compromise the two controversial roods of becoming a monk and living a secular life, and this resulted in much of his spiritual distress. In all his life Wang Searched for a rational way of life, pursuing the individual freedom and striving for the dominance of his won spirit. He meant to accomplish this by worshipping Buddha and practicing Zen, and the frustration, the hesitation, and the search in this process are all crystallize in his poetry.
