宋代文白消长与小说语体之变

古代白话自汉魏之际始现于书面语,经过长期发展,至宋代随着由雅趋俗的文化进程,广泛渗入多种文体。在此语言背景下,古代小说语体发生巨大的变革。一方面,文言小说语体变华艳为平实,出现浅俗化倾向,这是后人认为宋人小说不及唐人的重要原因。另一方面,白话小说语体的形成,与近代汉语的发展有着直接关系。话本既非说书人的底本,也非记录本,而是为了满足雕版印刷的出版需要,模拟说书艺术以书面白话语创作的新型小说文体。白话小说的繁荣,扩大了白话在书面语中的比例,反过来又推动了近代汉语的进一步发展。
