道德自律观是柯尔伯格道德认知发展理论的核心内容。在吸收康德、罗尔斯和皮亚杰等人研究成果的基础上,柯尔伯格不断明确和完善他律和自律的区分标准,提出了关于他律—自律类型说的三个假说:即发展类型、亚阶段和理想类型等方法,从微观上剖析其道德自律观的内在因缘。柯尔伯格道德自律观比较正确地揭示了人类个体道德发展的基本规律,肯定一定品德总是以一定的道德认识为必要条件,其局限在于缺乏一贯性的经验逻辑支持。
